As experts in dementia, they support families with the many complex challenges of the condition, providing free, specialist advice, support and understanding, whenever it\u2019s needed.<\/p>\n<p>Every day, Admiral Nurses help people affected by dementia have the best life possible for as long as possible. They are there when people need them most, providing health advice, offering compassionate emotional and psychological support and helping families plan for the future.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our nurses provide tailored support with all aspects of dementia<\/li>\n<li>If communication gets hard, they are on hand with skills and techniques to help family and friends stay connected to their loved one<\/li>\n<li>If someone with dementia is showing changes in behaviour, they will find the best ways of preventing or managing this<\/li>\n<li>If guidance is needed on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementiauk.org\/information-and-support\/financial-and-legal-support\/\">financial<\/a> benefits, they can talk this through<\/li>\n<li>If families are struggling to cope, they will be there to help them get the best possible care and support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our specialist nurses work on our free national <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementiauk.org\/information-and-support\/specialist-diagnosis-and-support\/admiral-nurse-dementia-helpline\/\">Dementia Helpline<\/a>, in our face-to-face and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dementiauk.org\/information-and-support\/specialist-diagnosis-and-support\/book-a-virtual-appointment\/\">virtual clinic<\/a>, and in the community, in GP practices, hospitals and care homes. They are also behind every piece of information and advice you\u2019ll find on Dementia UK\u2019s website. Their life-changing support helps families through the fear and confusion of dementia.
